It sets them up for a rather difficult adjustment afterwards and it puts a lot of pressure on them to feel like everything's going swell if it's not. I had some great and memorable times in college marred by a bad year in the middle and some uneasiness in the beginning. The pressure to think that i was having "the greatest time ever" and make it so, had enough backlash on its own. I think college is life, and it's usually a great period of it, but there's life after it and life before it. It's not a bubble or summer camp for four years, so there's stuff you have to take care of too.
